What is a School Counselor?
As school counselors, we are educators trained in school counseling, just as other educators are trained in math, science, or English. Our goal at Bentsen Elementary is to develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program designed to meet the needs of ALL students. Our counseling program includes many school-wide programs and services, including class lessons, small group counseling and individual sessions for students who need it*. All students will learn about the district’s core values as well as other valuable life skills to promote emotional wellbeing in their everyday lives. Although there are still some unknowns, we will learn our way through this return together. We are ready to help our students with whatever they may need to make their return to school successful.
