Hello My Name Is...
Victor de la Garza

Biography:
A little about myself, I have been teaching for the past 16 years. I have discovered that I truly love this profession and the lives that I am privileged to inspire every day. The past 10 years that I've been teaching at Bentsen Elementary have been the best years of my teaching career. My personal goal is to instill in these scholars the intrinsic motivation to learn and never be satisfied with the bare minimum in life.
I graduated from UT Pan American in 2005 with a degree in Kinesiology and a double minor in Biology and Military Science. In August 2005, I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and was assigned to Aco 1-504th 1BCT 82nd Airborne Division serving a total of 4 years in active duty. I completed my service in 2009 and I resigned my commission and accepted my new commission in the Texas Army National Guard. I served in the National Guard from 2009-2012 and participated in several operations in support of the State of Texas due to natural disasters. I was in the IRR for 1 year and felt that my service was not complete so I decided to join the Army Reserve as company commander for the 461st ETOE in McAllen. In January of 2017, I left the Army Reserve and subsequently left the army for good which brought my military career to an end.
Having been a student that endured many educational struggles I feel that I am in a position to show scholars that one can achieve, if one believes and never gives up on themselves.
